My heart is so sad to after a heavily armed gunman, Adam Lanza opened fire on innocent school children and staff at a Connecticut elementary school on Friday, killing at least 28 people, including over 20 children, Friday, Dec. 14, 2012. This is the latest in a series of shooting tragedies that have tormented the United States this year.
Meanwhile the school system is increasing more security and police offers in the wake of the school shooting in Newton Connecticut. But what I am not hearing is, the increase of clinical and child psychologists in the school system. Lets face it, we can increase security officers with guns to protect students and adults. But no matter how many officers we deploy, it will not stop a determined and lost soul to kill innocent kids and teachers. What if we take more time and deploy psychologists and trained teachers, including the school staff to recognized and talk to a disturbed child. Wouldn’t we have a better chance of saving 28 lives? It is easy to put a band aid on anything. It is time to be enlightened and see the deeper issues here. Many students and people are bullied or pressured via other students and even their own parents and adults. If we are not taking time to be concern with these kids and future adults, how can we simply deploy security and not deal with the issue of how the violence was born.
It is time to wake up and we need to at least make it difficult for regular civilians to have access to such high powered weapons. Sending light to the people in Connecticut, especially the family and friends of the shooting victims. May the kids souls fly high in heaven or the most peaceful dimension ever. May their families gain strength from the most horrible tragedy that can ravage anybody’s life, especially a parent.

Personally, I believe there should be more gun control, especially for people owning multiple guns. I do believe teachers and schools already have their hands full when the burden should be placed in many cases on better parenting skills with following through with consequences and not having the mentality of “I’m going to give everything to my kids that I didn’t have” then come home from work, drop into a lazy-boy chair and not spend quality time with children or even have the energy after fulfilling material needs beyond what is required. Parents need to see what their kids are doing, if they should want or need to talk and and above all, maintain a level of respect both ways. When that level of respect is lost, it’s all over.
With the economy the way it is, maybe families will be forced to go back to the “basics.”
If you want to own guns, especially multiple guns, then you must purchase a combination safe in which to store them and be held liable if someone uses your gun(s) to kill someone. Liability includes the result of family members with mental challenges who might feel free to borrow a gun to kill; and in the event guns are stolen and hit the street to be received as stolen property.
I know you like Morgan Freeman and here is his response which makes sense too:

people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basements see the news and want to top it by doing something worse, and going out in a memorable way. Why a grade school? Why children? Because he’ll be remembered as a horrible monster, instead of a sad nobody.
CNN’s article says that if the body count “holds up”, this will rank as the second deadliest shooting behind Virginia Tech, as if statistics somehow make one shooting worse than another. Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. Fox News has plastered the killer’s face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer’s identity? None that I’ve seen yet. Because they don’t sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you’ve just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.
You can help by forgetting you ever read this man’s name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem. You can help by turning off the news.”
Indeed! But more important is to not have regular citizens buying high power weapons. Are they expecting a internal war or to go on a murderous spree? I watched a special on T.V about the guns in Mexico used to murder many Mexicans daily. Including USA border patrols being killed by Narcs(Mexico) with guns supplied in USA. Most of the guns came from the USA and from gun stores close to the border in Texas. But what made it more disturbing is, the fact that some people can buy these guns without checking for permits. Including a gun fair where a gun salesman went undercover with reporter to show how easy it is to get high powered weapons without no permit or background checks.. Shocking and disturbing! Then you have the issues of not enough Mental Health Professionals and poor parenting skills; a recipe for more disaster!
I later discovered the following in the news about the comment above from Morgan Freeman. It sure did sound like something Morgan could have or would have said and it also has much wisdom, so maybe strike the author’s name and go with it being “unknown.”
UPDATE: In a Reddit thread about the Morgan Freeman Newtown shooting quote hoax, Redditor Quintilian751 claims that the attribution to Freeman began as a joke among friends about finding a way to make the remarks a man named Mark from Vancouver made after the Sandy Hook tragedy go viral on the internet.
The commenter provides a screenshot of the original quote by the man, and subsequent joking about attributing it to “Morgan Freeman or Betty White.” While the screenshot is not definitive proof the quote stems from here, the timeline also precedes the quote’s popularity and may well be the source for the spurious remark.
Regardless I can understand the points about sensationalism of the perpetrators.
